Workshops and Ayurveda
I returned from my trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico about 2 weeks ago, and it was so healing on many different levels! I went to study with renown Ayurvedic Physician and Pioneer of Ayurveda to the West, Vasant Lad. What an amazing human being. He reminded me so much of the Dalai Lama, their innocence and pure, loving hearts. Their humility and grace when they speak and walk fills me with joy, and somehow always seems to bring tears to my eyes.
It was a privilege to study with Vasant Lad. I fell in love with him, and Marma while I was there.** In case you haven’t heard about Marmani, Marma Therapy comes from Ayurveda and is similar to Chinese medicine and acupuncture. The difference is that Marma therapy doesn’t use needles like they do in acupuncture. However, similar points are pressed and stimulated to create healing to an area of dis-ease. We also placed crystals according to their affinity to the chakras, on these energetic portals to open up and flood the area with more light and healing. I had a very profound experience with the crystals that day, and I feel very connected to them, more than I ever have!
I’ve never really spent time in New Mexico, but I loved it!!!! I can’t wait to go back! The land itself was so earthy and grounding. The heat really helped me to slow down, you couldn’t move fast even if you wanted to!!
And I was staying with another Ayurvedic Practitioner and fellow classmate Emma Gamelsky, her partner Maru, and their beautiful 7 month old baby girl Ellie. It was great bonding and hanging out with the family, it was a very nourishing time. We didn’t do much and everything was very simple there, but that gave me so much space to just be.
Amma the hugging saint was also in town the same time I was there, so we got our darshan ( hugs) and hung out with all the other google eyed Amma lovers, and with Amma of course. It was very special and being in the presence of two very high vibrational beings that week( 3 including Baby Ellie) was a delight!
Well, the Ayurvedic learning never ends, right!!!?? So this weekend I am off to study with Sarita Shrestha!!! I’ve heard amazing things about her, and can’t wait to meet her myself. She is an inspiring woman, click on her link to read more about her…I am going to meet her with also, the prospects of undergoing her internship program next year in Nepal at her Woman’s Ayurvedic Hospital!!! ( FINGERS CROSSED)
I will report back when I return from my trip and let you know how it went!
Until then, keep cool this summer!!!
More to be said when I get back!
With Love always,
